Benign Hepato-Pancreato-
Biliairy disorders
. .
GENERAL INFORMATION
Date
April 22 & 23, 2004
Objectives
Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary disorders are preferably managed in a multidisciplinary team including gastroenterologists, radiologists and surgeons. We have chosen the benign HPB disorders as topics for this update to initiate the discussion between these specialties. This course consists of plenary sessions dealing with the dilemmas in the management of gallstone disease, benign liver tumors, acute and chronic pancreatitis.Experts of different specialties are invited to share their experiences with the participants and give you new insights in the clinical practice of benign HPB disorders.
During the Thursday morning sessions, prior to the congress, some participants will be able to discuss several topics in a workshop led by experts in the field. These workshops will subsequently be followed by a guided tour to the endoscopy suite, radiological intervention suite, and operating theatre to visit several live procedures. For clinicians treating HPB disorders it is mandatory to learn about the other specialists’ field and to see their own limitations. Therefore we encourage everyone to take the opportunity to look in another ’s kitchen. To reach a higher level of interactive teaching these workshops are unfortunately for a limited number of participants, who need to register separately from the congress.
